Sudbury Community and Fun Day Brings Faith, Fun, and Family Together
Posted: October 6th, 2026

On August 23, 2026, the Community Services and Family Ministries departments of the Sudbury Seventh-day Adventist Church organised a successful Community and Family Fun Day, bringing together approximately 150 people for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and community engagement.
The event featured two police cruisers and a fire truck, giving attendees an opportunity to interact with local first responders and learn more about their work. Several activity stations were also set up, including literature distribution, games, face painting, crafts, and food stations offering BBQ and popcorn.
One particularly encouraging moment occurred when a woman expressed a genuine interest in learning more about our church. She requested a tour of the church and inquired about Bible studies. We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work in her heart and in the hearts of everyone who attended.
We also witnessed a remarkable answer to prayer that day. It had been raining for several days leading up to the event, and the forecast called for rain throughout August 23.
Even representatives from the Police and Fire Departments contacted us to ask whether the event would be cancelled due to the weather. However, we remained confident and decided to move forward in faith.
To our amazement, the rain stopped just ten minutes before the event began! From approximately 1:50 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., we enjoyed rain-free weather. Shortly after the event ended, the rain returned.
Even the police officers and firefighters were amazed by how everything unfolded. We saw this as a beautiful reminder of God's faithfulness and His care for our community outreach efforts. To God be the glory!
Experiences like these strengthen our faith, deepen our connections with the community, and inspire us to continue sharing God's love through practical service.
As we look ahead to the OneVoice27 initiative, events like our Community and Family Fun Day are helping prepare and motivate us for greater opportunities to reach our communities with the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
