From Faith to Action: A Year in the Life of the Cambodian Adventist Company
Posted: March 18th, 2026

As the Cambodian Seventh-day Adventist Company reflects on the past year, members’ hearts are filled with gratitude for the Lord’s unwavering faithfulness. This report is more than a summary of events and numbers—it is a testimony of how the Holy Spirit has been moving among this small but growing community of believers, strengthening faith and unity. It also provides a transparent overview of the church’s journey and highlights the dedication of the pastor and members who continue to shape its future.
They started with the Pentecost 2025 Evangelism, held from April 19–26. By God’s grace, four precious souls were baptised at the conclusion of the series. In May 2025, the church focused on reconnecting with members by inviting them back to regular worship services. Sermons centred on the themes “Disciples Making Disciples” and “Mentoring” encourage members to take an active role in nurturing others in their spiritual journey.
During the final quarter of 2025, spiritual activities increased. Members and visitors gathered faithfully for Wednesday Midweek Prayer Meetings, Thursday Bible Studies, and Friday Night Vespers, which began in the first week of October. Communion Sabbath was also observed on the first Sabbath of October. On November 8, the church held a memorable social night featuring a potluck meal and games, strengthening fellowship among members and guests. The evening included a special Thanksgiving emphasis, praising God for His many blessings throughout the year.
In January 2026, the group moved to a larger worship location to accommodate the growing number of members, visitors, and followers. The year also began with a renewed emphasis on prayer through the “10 Days of Prayer” from January 1-10, conducted via Zoom and culminating with a Communion Sabbath.
Shortly afterwards, from January 23 to February 28, the church conducted the “Better By Far” Winter Evangelism every Friday and Saturday evening. Regular members attended faithfully, along with twelve consistent visitors who also participated in Bible classes led by Volunteer Pastor Andrew Runge Skytte. These attendees included six individuals from Toronto, four from the Philippines, and two from Siem Reap, Cambodia. Church elders and leaders served as speakers during the series, while associate leaders presided. Members were encouraged to actively participate in discussions and Q&A sessions, making the meetings more interactive and spiritually enriching.
The church’s goals for 2026 are focused on outreach, discipleship, and leadership development. Members are encouraged to reach the community—either by bringing the church to the community or the community to the church. Each member is challenged to mentor at least one or two individuals and to share the teachings of Scripture with others. Currently, members are also enrolled in the Ontario Conference Sabbath School Teacher Certification Course, which runs until June. In addition, members are being trained to serve as presiders, present devotionals, and eventually deliver sermons as they grow in confidence and spiritual leadership.
Looking ahead, several outreach initiatives are planned for 2026 and 2027. These include a monthly wellness program in partnership with the Kababayan Community Centre, participation in the Scarborough Person with Disability Awareness event during the summer, and involvement in the Lastman Square exhibit and community program. A Couples Retreat at Camp Frenda is scheduled for October 8–12. In addition, a Fall Evangelism series will be held every Friday and Saturday from October 2–31, culminating in a Communion service.
As with all Seventh-day Adventists, we are all encouraged "to put God first"—putting your goals and actions for the glory of God, and the rest will just fall into place.
