The experience was a true “lollipop moment” during the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) walk on February 28, 2026. This year marked the first time the London Seventh-day Adventist Youth Ministry participated in the CNOY initiative, led by our team captain, Diandra Benjamin.
When we arrived at the starting point, I was struck by the sheer number of people gathered—each willing to walk through the cold to raise awareness about homelessness and spread hope. Our team also exceeded our initial fundraising goal of $700, raising a total of $1,310 as of March 7. These funds will support London Mission Services in their ongoing efforts to care for the homeless and the displaced.
Seeing so many individuals united by compassion reminded our youth of something simple yet profound: as humans, we are more deeply connected through care than we might admit. That moment showed us the power of collective empathy and how each person’s presence contributes to a shared sense of responsibility and hope. It was also a grounding and meaningful moment for our ministry.
