PHOM’s Facebook Ministry Reaps Souls in Kenya

The Pilgrim’s Heart of Mission’s (PHOM) online Bible study grew beyond borders when 11 missionaries declared, “I WILL GO!” and traveled to Kisii, Kenya from October 8–28, 2025 to proclaim Jesus Christ.
God Started the Mission
During the peak of Covid-19, God inspired PHOM to launch a Facebook page on December 20, 2021. The page became a digital sanctuary, sharing inspirational quotations, devotionals, health messages, and live-streamed worship services. In February 2024, Ibrahim, a pastor from a Pentecostal church in Kisii, discovered PHOM online and expressed a desire to start a Bible study similar to those PHOM had nurtured digitally. Despite the challenges of time-zone differences, limited Wi-Fi, and reliance on small mobile devices, PHOM witnessed Ibrahim’s baptism via Zoom in May 2025, alongside five friends. This moment confirmed that the Facebook ministry had begun bearing fruit, prompting plans for an in-person mission to nurture this growing flock.
God Expanded the Mission Through Collaboration
Although Ibrahim’s place was initially considered as the site for evangelism, Riokindo was chosen for accessibility, which required a larger budget. PHOM laid the plans before God, trusting in His provision. Through collaboration with the Mississauga Filipino SDA Church, the financial goal was achieved within two months, demonstrating how God can use digital connections to inspire real-world action when guided by faith and partnership.
God Accomplished His Mission
Despite scorching heat and rainy evenings, locals gathered to hear Bible truths centred on Jesus Christ, presented by Pastor Geoffrey Killy of All Nations Adventist Church and Pastor Elvis-Silviu Dumitru of Sudbury Adventist Church. The mission reaped a harvest of 45 souls who accepted Christ as their Redeemer. Over 500 children attended the daily Vacation Bible School program. Health lectures by Carmen Dimaapi and free medical services reached 1,200 people, including procedures such as herniotomy, thyroidectomy, and cyst removal. Ibrahim’s group conducted their first communion service, and donations of Bibles, hymnals, and laptops were given to enhance worship and Bible study.
God Ignites His People for Mission
The Pilgrim’s Heart of Mission, a self-supporting ministry founded in 2020 by 23 Filipino Adventist families in Ontario, carries the mission of “bringing Jesus to every home,” shares PHOM leader Neng Nazareno. Its motto, “Sharing Christ with Compassion,” motivates the group to lead various local and international outreach initiatives.
This mission trip to Kenya underscores the power of digital ministry. PHOM’s Facebook page not only connected believers across continents but also laid the foundation for impactful in-person evangelism. It demonstrates that online platforms can be an effective tool for nurturing faith, mobilising resources, and expanding God’s kingdom globally. Its success shows that when God calls His people to witness, He also provides the means. Wherever God leads—abroad, in neighborhoods, at work, or through online platforms—the call remains the same: respond with “I WILL GO!”
