Toronto Heritage Ghanaian Adventist Church Welcomes New Pastor
October 22, 2025 | Joel Nembhard | Ontario Conference
On Sabbath, October 18, 2025, the Toronto Heritage Ghanaian Seventh-day Adventist Church joyfully welcomed Pastor Michael Kwabena Lowas as its newly installed pastor. The installation service, led by Pastor Joel Nembhard, was a spirit-filled occasion marked by gratitude, celebration, and hope for the future. Pastor Rowan Sewell offered a heartfelt prayer of dedication for Pastor Lowas and his family, sealing the moment with spiritual significance.
Pastor Lowas was born in the town of Granted Frante, located near Sekyedumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. His journey of faith began early, when he attended a local Adventist church and was baptized at age 14. His dedication to ministry inspired him to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Theological Studies at Valley View University in Accra, Ghana. He then pursued a Master's degree in Public Health Nutrition from the Adventist University of Africa in Kenya.
Over the years, Pastor Lowas has served in various capacities, including University Chaplain, District Pastor, and Conference Director for Health, Publishing, Chaplaincy, Public Campus, Education, and Counselling Ministries in Ghana. His leadership and dedication have touched many lives and communities.
Pastor Lowas is joined in ministry by his wife, Vera Lowas, whom he married in 2011. Vera was baptized at the age of 11 and has actively led several church departments. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Banking and Finance, as well as a postgraduate degree in Education from Valley View University.
Their union is blessed with three children: Noela (12), Pearl Ann (10), and Michael Jr. (8), who bring joy and energy to both their family and the church community.
The Toronto Heritage Ghanaian Church family is excited and grateful to welcome Pastor Lowas and his family. Their arrival signifies a new chapter of spiritual growth, community engagement, and continued faithfulness.
