The Bowmanville Seventh-day Adventist Church warmly welcomed Pastor Gerry Pasikatan as its new pastor during an installation service held on May 9, 2026. Accompanied by his wife, Sigrid, and their sons, Lyle and Lee, Pastor Pasikatan joyfully accepted the call to serve as the church’s spiritual leader.
The pastoral installation service was officiated by Pastor Allan Chichester, Family and Men’s Ministries Director of the Ontario Conference. Before leading the Litany of Pastoral Installation, Pastor Chichester expressed appreciation to former pastor James Anderson and his wife, Cathy, for their faithful and fruitful years of ministry, during which the church continued to grow from strength to strength. Pastor Anderson recently retired from active ministry.
Pastor Pasikatan accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 11, influenced by his beloved mother. Throughout his childhood and early years, he experienced several near-death incidents that deepened his conviction of God’s abiding presence and protection, affirming God’s special purpose for his life.
With 28 years in gospel ministry, Pastor Pasikatan has served in various capacities, including youth pastor, pastor, lead pastor, cross-cultural missionary, church planter, natural church development and church planting coach, assistant professor, hospital and campus chaplain, school administrator, and conference director. He is deeply passionate about leading souls to Jesus Christ and has a special love for church-planting ministry.
Preceding the installation, Sigrid Pasikatan and the family were introduced by Lauren Chichester. Coming from a family of Adventist pastors, Sigrid serves professionally as a medical laboratory scientist. Although she never envisioned becoming a pastor’s wife, she wholeheartedly embraced the sacred calling alongside Pastor Gerry as a faithful partner in ministry. She also enjoys gardening, crafts, and music.
The Pasikatan family is blessed with two sons. Lyle is currently a senior at Andrews University, pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, while Lee is a Grade 10 student at Kingsway College.
In his inaugural message, Pastor Pasikatan described mothers as among the best disciple-makers. Drawing on the story of Hannah, the mother of the prophet Samuel, who made a sacred vow to the Lord, he reminded the congregation of the importance of honouring their baptismal and marriage vows, and of their solemn commitment to make disciples and faithfully serve the Lord.
The Bowmanville Church looks forward with anticipation to a productive and meaningful ministry under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Pasikatan.
