OneVoice27 Launch Bears First Fruits: 13 Baptisms

The Toronto Ghanaian Seventh-day Adventist Church celebrated a remarkable beginning to its
OneVoice27 initiative on Sabbath, September 5, 2026, when 13 people were baptised—the first fruits
of the church’s renewed evangelistic mission.

The launch followed a well-planned two-Sabbath evangelistic program, which led to altar calls
calling on nonmembers for baptism and a comprehensive presentation during Bible study on Friday,
September 4, when Pastor Obed Obeng introduced the vision and mission of OneVoice27. The initiative
calls every member to unite their gifts, prayers, influence, and service to fulfil Christ’s mission and
share the everlasting gospel.

Pastor Kwesi Gyimah officially launched OneVoice27 on Sabbath, September 5. The day became even more memorable when three unexpected decisions for baptism revealed the initiative’s purpose in action.

An Unexpected Harvest

Among those present were 15 staff members and clients from Vitanova Foundation, a rehabilitation organization. They had come to support a friend who was being baptised that day after he had stood during the altar call following Pastor Obed Obeng’s sermon on baptism the previous Sabbath. The baptism had been intentionally planned to commemorate the OneVoice27 launch as its first fruits.

The Vatanova Foundation group came to celebrate one person’s decision. During the altar call,
however, three other members of the group also chose to be baptised.

Their decisions became a compelling testimony to the work of the Holy Spirit and to the influence
one person’s commitment to Christ can have on others.

The Heart of OneVoice27

The experience captured the heart of OneVoice27: every person can become an instrument through
whom someone else encounters Jesus. A simple invitation, friendship, testimony, prayer, or act of
support can begin someone’s journey into the kingdom of God.

Looking Toward 2027

The baptism of 13 people is being celebrated as the first fruits of OneVoice27, but the Toronto
Ghanaian Adventist Church believes this is only the beginning.

Looking toward 2027, the church is renewing its commitment to prayer, personal evangelism,
discipleship, community outreach, and total member involvement.

The church warmly welcomes all 13 newly baptised members into the family of God and prays that
they will continue to grow in Christ and become disciples who make disciples.
